The Lutheran Church of Arcata is present in the community to love and serve all people, guided by the teaching and example of Jesus Christ.

"I have come that they may have life, life to the full."

            – John 10:10

Welcome! We would love for you to join with our congregation as we seek to live out the Gospel of Jesus Christ, guided by our Lutheran teachings and traditions.

We believe that following Jesus can bring all people to eternal life — and into life “to the full” here on the earth. Rooted in God’s Word, our community journeys in discipleship together through the highs and lows of life, supporting one another in challenges and celebrating with one another in times of joy.

Our worship services follow traditional patterns of Lutheran liturgy, though our style of worship varies with each Sunday and season of the church year. We use both contemporary worship music as well as beloved hymns, honoring both the old and the new as we sing and pray together.

This congregation is unique in that two Lutheran denominations (ELCA and LC-MS) have been worshipping the triune God here together for over 50 years, reveling in God’s Grace and promises in the spirit of Christian unity.

Live from LCA!

Our weekly virtual worship services included readings, prayer, music, and a short meditation/reflection.
