Parking Permits

The Lutheran Church of Arcata will not be offering Parking Permits for the 2026/2027 Academic Year

We have been informed by Humboldt County that using our parking lot for *non-religious* purposes makes that portion of our property subject to county property taxes. Because we rented parking spaces to students during the 2025–2026 academic year, our parking lot will now be assessed and taxed accordingly.

As a result, it is no longer financially feasible for us to continue offering student parking permits at this time.

We are disappointed by this outcome, as we viewed the rental of parking spaces as both a service to local students and an extension of our ministry to the community.

If you would like to be placed on a waiting list, please contact the church. Should circumstances change, we will notify those on the list.
