The Lutheran Church of Arcata
is present in the community to
continue Jesus' own ministry:

- John 10:10

Welcome and thanks for visiting the website of the Lutheran Church of Arcata. We believe that you are important to God and that He desires for you to experience the fullness of life that only He can bring!

We believe Jesus is not just a historical figure, but someone who is alive and present - someone you can know, love, and experience.

His message of love and salvation is the greatest news! It is through this gift that we believe a person can experience a true fullness of life-with purpose and joy! We invite you to gather with us in celebrating this amazing love of Jesus.

Come, and enjoy Life to the Full!

A Message from Pastor Rick:

"For to us a child is born, to us a Son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace." Isaiah 9:6

This is such a special time of year as we celebrate our Lord's birth and make the turn into a new year. For many people, this is a season filled with special moments with family and friends. For others, it is a time reflecting on childhood memories.

At the center of our celebration is rejoicing in the gift of Jesus who brings hope to the world. In Jesus, we have a peace that can be found nowhere else, a hope that the world cannot provide. It is in Jesus that we can live with a joy that goes beyond our present circumstances so that we can lift our eyes to the joy that is to come- living in His presence!

We would love to invite you to worship with us as we celebrate all that God is doing in our lives together! If you are new to the Arcata area or are without a church home, it would be a blessing to celebrate this special time with you. We are hosting a special candlelight Christmas Eve worship at 7 p.m. with special music welcoming the gift of our Savior. A Christmas Day service will be held at 9:30 a.m. as well.

It is my prayer that God fills your heart with His peace, hope and joy!

In Christ,
Pastor Rick
